A former industrial building comes alive agein.

The former factory achievs impressive harmony between historic substance and contemporary architecture.

In every area of the site, the care that has been taken to preserve traces of the former Express factory is evident. Buildings containing more recent interiors were gutted and the earlier romm structures brought to light.

The planning from the masterplan to the smallest detail was designed by Berschneider + Berschneider together with the building owner Anna and Dr. Helmut Hofman.

After many decades of varied use and partial demolition the building had to be rearranged for the new purpose.The protection of the ressources via preservation, cleansing and conservation of the basic structure of the building had great importance.

Additionally the historic site has been made fit for the future as far as energy supply is concernerd: both geothermal and solar energy are used as a regenerative source in all areas.
